Brand Manager (San Diego)

SPARK is looking for a Brand Manager who will be responsible for managing key client relationships, contributing to brand and marketing strategy and leading collaboration between agency and client teams. Your role is about keeping the client & agency headed in the right direction, together. You do this by managing the details around each project and staying focused on the reasons why we are doing them. It requires more than just passing information along – you must contextualize for each audience. You are the key interpreter of information to ensure everyone is aligned in understanding what success looks like and is armed with the tools and information to achieve it. Your primary aim is to help the agency make our work better by fostering great relationships, being a problem solver at all times, and going the extra mile to set your teams up for success.

The Role

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with your clients and your colleagues.
  • Own and drive your projects forward strategically, taking a proactive and thoughtful approach while still ensuring we meet our deadlines and make progress.
  • Create project schedules and estimates, often in partnership with a brand coordinator.
  • Gather insights and key client intel to inform creative briefs.
  • Write creative briefs in collaboration with brand directors, creative directors and your clients.
  • Review creative work internally to ensure it’s on-brief and will meet the client’s expectations. Whenever possible, offer your own POV to help make the work better based on key knowledge you have of the client and category.
  • Always ask why, and continuously work toward clarity of client goals, project objectives, and KPIs we can clearly measure the work against – and help ensure these goals are met.
  • Actively work to grow your client’s business with SPARK. Look for opportunities to increase our scope of work whenever possible.
  • Confidently present to clients alongside your creative team whenever needed.
  • Collaborate openly across all departments at SPARK – you are the hub and our success depends heavily on how effectively you gather the right resources at the right time.
