Media Planner

SPARK is seeking a Media Planner who will develop multi-channel, integrated plans and implement media buys across all digital and traditional platforms. The position will provide data-driven thinking for campaigns and media executions. The Media Planner must be a strategic thinker who can ideate multiple solutions to a given challenge. A passion for research and ability to see both big picture as well as micro-campaign level is critical. This individual must have experience in both traditional and digital media but possess an ability to ideate outside a standard banner ad, sponsored post or :30 spot. 

The Basics

5+ years of media experience
Ability to build digital, social and traditional strategies from the ground up
Experience with paid social, programmatic digital and analytics required
Strong organizational skills and very high attention to detail are essential
Excellent communication and presentation skills

Market & Consumer Research

  • Partner with key platforms to identify consumer behaviors, attitudes, and media consumption habits to inform campaign planning, including media strategies and placements.
  • Collaborate with third party vendors to conduct and analyze custom research.
  • Work with media vendors to access market research including, media spend, media consumption, and industry insights.
  • Provide market analysis for regional efforts to inform campaigns, creative, and media plans.
  • Proactively monitor trends and case studies to identify new opportunities for plans and executions

Media Planning

  • Contribute forward-thinking traditional and digital approaches to connect our clients with their customers.
  • Identify which media platforms and vendors work best in order to promote a client’s brand or product based on the media strategy provided by media director.
  • Prepare media plans, negotiate vendor rates, and present final recommendations to the media director for evaluation.

Media Buying & Optimization

  • Place media buys with vendors across digital and traditional.
  • Monitor digital media performance and make optimizations throughout campaigns.
  • Analyze data to make recommendations to optimize media placements, website engagement, and overall interaction with the consumer.
  • Create internal and client-facing reports analyzing media placement & creative performance and identify ways to make improvements.
