Executive Producer

SPARK is seeking an Executive Producer to manage and oversee all aspects of our production team. As the EP your role is to galvanize teams across disciplines to tell stories that move people to act. You lead teams to the highest quality video, photography or audio product regardless of client budget. You are passionate about mentoring, growing and leading teams of top talent including shooters, editors, producers and motion designers. From creative concept to finished piece, you embrace collaboration at all stages and foster a culture of open, solutions-oriented communication for optimal outcomes. Maintain cooperative disposition while balancing creative needs with business strategy and fiscal responsibility.

The Basics

Minimum 7+ years experience as agency producer.
Extensive experience with videography and editing
Experience managing post production
Extensive knowledge of broadcast production and run and gun production

Studio Leadership

  • Focus on bringing passion and great outcomes, always.
  • Gain context of client needs and provide appropriate estimate to solve client ask.
  • Create a clear vision for each project and lead creation of clear plan of action for each project prior to start.
  • Take an active role in getting invested in key projects, actively contributes ideas through processes to elevate the creative and client objectives.
  • Embrace internal revisions with a positive attitude and bring proactive solutions or recommendations.
  • Embrace client revisions with a positive attitude and bring proactive solutions or recommendations.
  • Proactively dedicates time to grow studio staff in areas that need improvement or foster areas of strength.

Elevate Production at Every Phase

  • Collaborate with creative and brand teams to understand both the concept and client business objectives.
  • Work with the creative team to develop and refine final storyboards prior to the start of pre-production.
  • Proactively deliver Concept Treatments based on creative concepts, and work with creative teams to refine.
  • Drive self and team to provide multiple solutions for highest quality outcomes within client budgets.

Production Leadership

  • Ensure and execute on sourcing of casting, locations, wardrobes and props meet creative and budget criteria.
  • Ensure quality assurance vetting and necessity of all crew for production.
  • Review and approve all production binders in collaboration with creative and brand teams to ensure alignment.
  • Direct large shoots to ensure agency and client vision is met.
  • Oversee all studio edits at every stage and revision round and foster a collaborative edit culture with the creative team.

Department Management

  • Maintain oversight of all production estimates at every stage to ensure responsible management of agency and client budgets.
  • Plan and oversee all stages of the studio workflow short and long-term scheduling and adjust with shifting priorities.
  • Work with operations to forecast staffing needs & develop resourcing plans to accommodate workflow.
  • Ensure effective management of studio server with proactive communications to leadership on needs.
  • Proactively share key budget overages and/or concerns to partners.
  • Ensure accurate time tracking for all studios team staff through regular review of time sheets.
  • Proactively share future equipment needs and make recommendations on investments as needed.
  • Share post mortem documents with optimization recommendations to partners on all large projects.

Agency Trajectory

  • Actively contribute ideas and solutions in a collaborative manner for director/partner initiatives
  • Actively growing and nurturing relationships with partners and fellow directors
  • Ability to think beyond the department and support whole-agency growth while working on sensitive and critical initiatives

Develop the Team

  • Develop and manage growth plans for staff
  • Provide active, in-the-moment mentorship for staff
  • Be actively committed to your own growth and development
  • Conduct 1:1’s and reviews for reporting employees

Experience & Qualities

  • Minimum 7+ years experience as agency producer.
  • Extensive experience with videography and editing
  • Experience managing post production
  • Extensive knowledge of broadcast production and run and gun production
  • Experience with digital technology and editing software packages (ie. Premiere, After Effects, Lumetri Color, Final Cut)
  • Extensive knowledge of cinema camera operation (ie. RED Cinema, Sony, Canon, ARRI)
  • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • Extensive knowledge of in-studio and environmental lighting
  • Ability to genuinely collaborate with all departments within the agency is critical.
