Media Director

SPARK is looking for a media director to spearhead the agency’s integrated media solutions. You are passionate about exploring new ways to connect brands and consumers and embrace the opportunity to collaborate with integrated teams to discover what’s possible. You are a strategic thinker who can ideate multiple solutions to a given challenge, bring a passion for research and ability to see both the big picture and the micro-campaign needs. You oversee the development and execution of multi-channel, integrated campaigns. You inspire your teams to ask themselves, “Why not” when it comes to pushing publishers and outlets on new and innovative media solutions. You prioritize developing strong relationships with internal and client teams to ensure data-driven thinking is at the forefront of solutions building.

This role is about 90% remote. We need someone in the Tampa Bay or surrounding areas for occasional onsite strategy sessions; however, the day to day can be work from home.

The Basics

7+ years in Media Buying/Planning/Strategy
Experience in the travel industry and developing compelling co-op campaigns
Experience in both traditional and digital media

Media Strategy and Planning

  • Lead the strategy development, activation and launch of all media channels including traditional, experiential, paid social, programmatic, trade partners, and search (SEO/SEM), etc
  • Drive comprehensive 360 strategies, and spearhead the collection of industry trends, key competitive analyses, and insights
  • Lead the strategy, planning, implementation, execution and reporting of media campaigns across paid media channels and across the full funnel
  • Analyze campaign performance data to optimize media strategies and maximize ROI
  • Identify opportunities to integrate co-op programs into media plans for travel clients
  • Bring media expertise to collaborate with Creative to push new campaign ideas

Media Operations

  • Form strategic partnerships with trade publishers and other media partners
  • Oversee and optimize monthly reporting on all media campaigns
  • Work closely with agency and internal teams to share out on regular competitive reporting
  • Manage budget allocation and resource optimization to maximize campaign effectiveness and return on investment
  • Work closely with finance and project management to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and proof of performance
  • Work closely with the media team in the development and communication of all media recommendations

Team Development

  • Oversee the operational aspects of the media team, ensuring seamless execution of media plans and campaigns
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster their professional growth
  • Identify opportunities for team learning and development to stay ahead of trends and technical advancements

Client Management

  • Manage client relationships to help deliver annual media marketing plan with channel mix recommendation and quarterly tactical campaigns
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of clients’ business and apply their media understanding accordingly to help deliver against the clients’ needs/objectives
  • Establish close working relationships with key client contacts that enable opportunities to further the quality and effectiveness of media efforts.
  • Regularly sell the value of the agency’s media services through consistent client communication
  • Proactively identify opportunities and methodologies to evolve and grow media services at SPARK

Experience & Qualities:

  • 7+ years in Media Buying/Planning/Strategy
  • Experience in the travel industry and developing compelling co-op campaigns
  • Must have experience building teams
  • Comfortable being a hands-on leader
  • Experience in both traditional and digital media
  • Comfortable coming up with big ideas, push the thinking and guide clients
  • Active contributor
