Senior Copywriter

SPARK is on the hunt for a storyteller extraordinaire, better known as a Senior Copywriter. Our Senior Copywriters can communicate big ideas with simplicity for brands, brand systems, and ad campaigns. They lead writing throughout the creative process with strategy, attention to detail, and craft. And, they do it in a way that translates the idea across various media, cultures, countries and platforms.

The Basics

3-6 years experience in a similar role at an in-house, brand or advertising agency.

Strategy

  • All ideas and executions are natural answers to strategy.

Integrated Approach

  • Excel in creative solutions no matter the media
  • Take an active role in shaping the full communication of creative solutions—visual, verbal and emotional
  • Think beyond copy. Demonstrate understanding of how visual elements compliment creative solutions.

Concept

  • Develop creative solutions that are insight-driven, conceptually strong and well-written

Refine/Evolution

  • Challenge teams to expand creative vision through a strategic approach and showing technical expertise.
  • Create refined communication and storytelling that expand creative vision across various media

Execution

  • With attention to detail and oversight, ensure all files and deliverables are proofed, on time and on brand

Presentation

  • Lead development of structure and creative approach to client presentations and pitches. Translate technical approach and process to clients & production partners.
  • Not only share ideas internally, but inspire others
  • Own key segments in client presentations and pitches

Client Influence

  • Moving beyond just client presentations to have a relationship of trust and respect.

Experience

  • 6-8 years experience in a similar role at an in-house, brand or advertising agency
  • Experience in writing for Global brands, where words must be translated and relevant across languages and cultures
  • Travel/Tourism experience is a plus!
  • Award-winning portfolio with Regional and National clients in a variety of media including TV, OOH, and digital and brand
  • Mastery of copywriting principles in storytelling, communication, tone/voice
  • Mastery of presentation prep
  • Mastery of typography, photography, design and art direction
  • Mastery of text editor programs ( Word, Pages, Keynote )
  • Adobe Creative Cloud ( ID, PS ) experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or similar
