Studio Tech

SPARK is seeking a Studio Tech who is eager to contribute and collaborate with our Studios team. You are extremely organized and technically efficient with the entire post production process from broadcast to social content. Core duties will include but are not limited too: Ingesting files; syncing & grouping elements; pulling selects; logging footage; stringing-out scripts; exporting/outputting cuts; exporting EDLs; creating shot logs;  final mix prep and audio export; footage re-conform; media management; server management; equipment assessment.

The Basics

3-5 year experience with videography and editing.
Experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Premiere, After Effects, Lumetri Color, Final Cut)
Experience with QNAP server management

Post Production

  • Assists with pre-edits/post project prep and contributes to media management and DIT requirements for upcoming shoots as well as DIT on set.
  • Pull relevant footage for concept edits.
  • Willing to provide options on shots when asked, and be proactive about offering additional option suggestions in the moment.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and professional environment on set.
  • Demonstrates an ability to pivot due to schedule and/or environmental demands without sacrificing quality of end product.
  • Manage all footage on servers, categorize, organize and archive. Import footage, organize bins, create string-outs, and maintain a media library across multiple projects. Maintain consistent naming conventions and organization of projects, folders, bins and files.
  • Take direction from Creatives, Editors, Producers, and Project Managers to evolve the work
  • Clear communication on the status of project assets.
  • Assist in the localization and versioning of a project for delivery, building and checking assets based on delivery specifications.
  • Have a keen sense of efficient workflows & quality control.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment. Keep on task and finish all urgent assignments for the day.
  • Assessing Footage as it comes in and promptly notifying appropriate teams of any problems or potential issues with media, projects, sources, etc.
  • Prepare for finishing all prepared pieces (including Online/Color grading and creating audio AAFs for final mixes)
  • Assist in prioritizing and streamlining needed tasks.
  • Implement proxy system for all editors
  • Project re-sizing and quick social media edits
  • Find footage for social, creative, brand departments and for SPARK marketing

Experience & Qualities:

  • 3-5 year experience with videography and editing.
  • Experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Premiere, After Effects, Lumetri Color, Final Cut)
  • Experience with QNAP server management
  • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
  • Familiarity with after effects title and vector animation
  • Color correction or video ranging from commercials and features to short films
  • Able to work mostly on-site in our Tampa, FL office.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
